As the school year ends it is time to think about teacher gifts. I just love to give little thank you cards and gifts to show the teachers how much I appreciate all they did this school year for my little ones. My children also learn the importance of giving thanks as my son came up with a list of 18 people that not only included his teachers but also the custodian and maintenance man because he said they play and important part in his school, and need to be thanked as well.

Todays project is inspired by the Tin of Cards Cark Kit. I wanted to see what other cards I could make with the kit, because you know me I have a hard time making the same card over and over again. Do you have the Tin of Cards Kit, but want to make different cards with it? Here are a few different ideas. I made all these cards plus the 4 designs the kit comes with for a total of 16 cards, the only additional item I used was the Bermuda Bay ink pad. The Mint Maccaron Butterfly is made by inking the white side of the Crushed Curry die cut butterfly.
Today's card features the Bokeh Technique. I will be teaching this technique and others you can do with sponge dobbers in class on May 2nd. I have also used the Tin of Cards stamp set with this card, this is a great sentiment set and can be used on other projects, not just the card kit.
Today's card is similar to the card that we made in class with the addition of the little charm and a change of paper. This card shows that you can take a design and step it up by adding a charm, or change the DSP to one you have or maybe like better. Have fun, I challenge you to change up one of your card designs, or one of mine. I would love to see what you come up with.
Today's card is a masculine Birthday card using the By the Sea stamp set.
Card base 8 1/2" × 5 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4" (crumb cake)
Card front cut to 4" × 5 1/4" (whisper white) stamp images using Soft Suede and stamp off for lighter images
Sentiment piece Soft suede cut to 3" × 3/4" layered with whisper white cut to 3" ×1/2" use banner punch to make fish tail end
Also use the banner punch to make 2 banners front soft suede
Wrap card front with linen thread and adhere with dimensionals
Today's technique involves stamping on both sides of the die cut. This is needed because in this card the bear holding his fishing rod so you see the back side of the paper. This is achieved by stamping and die cutting the bear as normal, then turning the bear over and stamping again. Now if this was a photo polymer set this would be easy because you can see right through stamp to where you are going to stamp.
